The skill of Tiling

Starting to tile
It took Rick and I three days to tile the Master bath shower.  Josh helped me a couple of weeks ago tile the front of the tub.  It was a lot of work but the end results were worth it.  The backdrop from the vanity was super easy to put in and looks fantastic!  One step closer to having a completed bathroom :)

The Royal Flushing

We have owned our house now for nine months.  Today we had the pleasure of actually getting to experience flushing a toliet in our home!! I know it doesn't seem like flushing a toliet would be that exciting, but when you have been using a porta-potty for nine months the thought of a good flush is super exciting.  Of course we are still working on getting a door installed on the guest bathroom so until then we might have to through up a curtain :)

Sweet Tile

 Hallway

 Amado's room
 Closet
 Mudroom
 Master bathroom
Rick and I very quickly became skilled at saltillo laying.  We had a great time doing it and the house is really starting to come together.  It all looks beautiful and we are very proud of our work.  Thanks again to Josh for coming and hanging out :)
A few pictures of the stages of laying saltillo.

Master bedroom (before and afters)

This wall got completely transformed when we moved the door from one side to the other and enlarged it.

This is Rick standing in the kitchen.  We filled in the doorway with adobe that we had left over from building our shed.

Here is the entryways into Amados room and the closet from the master bedroom.  This wall needed the most work, but we were able to create the nicho and the bookshelf and nicho in Amados room.

Amado's Room (which he loves!!)

So far the putting up the roofing in the masterbath, closet and Amado's room has been one of our biggest challenges.  Thanks to Josh (rick's nephew) for coming and helping us with Amado's room or else we might not have survived it.
In the end they all came out beautifully!

Here are some before and afters of Amados Room

A long time coming (masterbath)

When we first got the house it took a lot of effort to visualize a completed room or even a partially completed room.  Now we are looking at an installed bathtub and getting ready to tile the surrond of the tub and shower in the master bathroom.
